The Cindy McArthur Memorial Scholarship

Cindy McArthur had an unwavering dedication to the Search and Rescue (SAR) community, both as a highly skilled K9 handler and a passionate educator. A true role model, Cindy’s commitment to continuous learning and innovation in SAR training set her apart. She actively sought out new training ideas and methods to better herself.  She would then turn and share her knowledge, ensuring that others could benefit from her experience.

With 20 years of volunteer service, Cindy made an indelible impact on the field, traveling extensively to provide expert certification evaluations and assisting countless teams in improving their skills.

Cindy played a pivotal role as the area instructor at the inaugural Southern CA K9 Seminar in November 2019.  As often was her way, she left a lasting impression on her students and the staff of the seminar.

The Southern CA K9 Seminar strives to align with Cindy’s ongoing pursuit of high-quality SAR K9 training through bringing in instructors from all over the United States to share their knowledge and strategies with the united goal, “so that others may live.”
